Mango Banana Smoothie


Happy Monday!!!  Welcome to “On the Lighter Side” at The Slow Roasted Italian, where every Monday I will be bringing you dishes from the lighter side.  Dishes that will help you get back to your week and recuperate from your weekend.  If you are eating healthy or enjoy healthy dishes, you will want to be here every Monday to see the weekly “On the Lighter Side” spotlight.

"On the Lighter Side" this week, I bring you a simple smoothie made with mango, banana and yogurt.  It is thick, refreshing, flavorful and a great source of protein at 14 grams per serving (that’s more than 2 eggs!).

Mango Banana Smoothie
1 medium banana, peeled
1 cup mango chunks, frozen
1 cup non-fat plain yogurt
1 tablespoon honey

Place banana, mango, yogurt and honey in blender.  


Blend until smooth, pour into your favorite glass and serve immediately.
